Black Members of Congress
Welcome to the Avoice Library
The Avoice website is designed to capture and preserve the rich history of the political and legislative contributions of Black leaders for future generations. This virtual library serves as a central source of information on historical and contemporary African American policy issues, making it an invaluable resource for researchers, academics, educators, and students.
Developed by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), this project highlights the participation and contributions of African Americans in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. These efforts have been integral to the CBCF’s policy development and educational mission. To preserve this history, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has taken the initiative to collect, store, and share this invaluable legacy, leveraging technology to ensure its survival for generations to come.
